Activities:
Beach Combing – Look for agates, driftwood, shells and other odd things the
ocean has washed up as you walk along our 5-mile long beach.
Storm Watching – Put on the rain gear and watch the massive waves crash
into Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock. For less of an adventure, enjoy the
storm and a pint at our local brew pub on the beach.
Kite Flying – What trip to the beach doesn’t include flying a kite? Summer
breezes will always keep your kite aloft and may pull you down the beach.

Tide Pooling – Calmer seas and low tide reveals many tide pools and sea life.
Surfing – Bring your long board and surf with the locals. Regarded as one of
the best surf sites in Oregon. Rentals and lessons are available from the local
surf shops.
Fishing – Spring and Fall run of Salmon and Steelhead in the Big Nestucca
right in the middle of town. Ling Cod, Rock Fish, Tuna and Sea Bass are just
some of the fish you will find in the Ocean. Charters boats and fishing guides
are available throughout town.
Clamming – Grab your shovel during a minus tide and help yourself on the
flats of Nestucca bay.
Crabbing – From the beach at the mouth of the Nestucca River or hire a
guide and toss rings into the bay.
Whale Watching – Hike to the top of Cape Kiwanda or out on Cape Lookout
to watch the migration of the Gray Whale.
Calm seas will let you see them
from the beach.
Marine and Mammal Animal Watching – Just sit on the beach and watch
nature’s parade of marine animals swim and frolic in the surf including seals
and sea lions. Watch them fish at the mouth of the Nestucca River.
Bird Watching – We are home to a multitude of species including Bald
Eagles, Puffins, Gulls, Pelicans, Herons, Ducks and migrating Canadian Geese
and songbirds.
Campfire – The beach is a great place for a romantic campfire.
Golf – We have two fun golf courses within a 20-minute drive, south to the
quaint village of Neskowin and north to Tillamook.
Shopping – Of course we have many fine and fun shops and galleries to
browse to your hearts content.
Casinos – Try your luck at one of the two casinos just a short drive away.
Off Road Driving – Sand Lake is near for your ATV and off road vehicles
wanting a blast through the sand. More technical trails can be found at Jordan
Creek, Diamond Mine and Brown’s Camp.
Paddling – Whalen Island and Nestucca Bay are perfect for paddlers of
kayaks and canoes. Rentals are available on the Nestucca river in town.
Hiking – Many state parks in the area offer trails for all abilities. Hike the
Capes or forest trails.
Bicycling or Driving – The Three Capes Scenic Route is a great way to
experience the coast and South Tillamook County.
Horseback Riding – Riding on the beach and dunes at Bob Straub State Park.
Para sailing and Hang Gliding – Bring your gear or reserve a tour and jump
off Cape Kiwanda.

Star Gazing – View the night sky from the hot tub or a stroll on the beach.
Get Married – The beach is perfect for a Summer wedding. Mike is a
minister with Universal Life Church.and Dudeism.
Massage – Please ask for us to arrange a massage for you.
Ladder Golf – Also known as Bola Golf and Sling Ball. Play a game in the
back yard with a glass of wine or beer. Get instructions to make your own

Dining – Please ask us to make dinner reservations for your romantic night out
Learn – Take a class at the Sitka Center.
